CDTX

CIDARA THERAPEUTICS, INC.

Healthcare | Biotechnology | USA

Cidara Therapeutics, Inc., formerly K2 Therapeutics, Inc., is a biotechnology company. The Company is focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of anti-infective products. The Company's products are the formulations of its compound, CD101, which is an echinocandin. Its products include CD101 intravenous (biafungin) and CD101 topical (topifungin). In addition, it owns an immunotherapy technology platform, Cloudbreak. The Company is also developing other candidates for the treatment of bacterial and viral infections.

CD101 intravenous

The Company's lead product candidate, CD101 intravenous (CD101 IV), is a once-weekly intravenous (IV) therapy indicated for the treatment and prevention of systemic Candida infections, including candidemia and related cases of invasive candidiasis. CD101 IV is in early stage of preclinical development.

CD101 topical

CD101 topical is a topical formulation of CD101 for the treatment of recurrent vaginal yeast infections (VVC) or recurrent vulvo-vaginal candidiasis (RVVC). CD101topical shows potency at vaginal pH values. The Company has conducted preclinical studies to evaluate the tolerability, toxicity and pharmacokinetic profile of CD101 topical when administered topically to female rats. CD101 topical is in early stage of preclinical development.

Cloudbreak Immunotherapy Platform

The Company has developed its Cloudbreak immunotherapy platform for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by a range of fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens. The Company's Cloudbreak development candidates include C001 and C016. Its Cloudbreak development candidates recruit components of the patient's immune system to the site of infection and are indicated for the treatment of invasive aspergillosis. Each Cloudbreak development candidate has two small molecules that are joined by a chemical linker: a targeting moiety (TM) that recognizes a cell surface target and an effector moiety (EM) that is recognized by the immune system. The coupling of the TM to the EM results in a bispecific molecule that can direct the immune system specifically to the targeted pathogen. C001 uses an echinocandin as the TM, and C016 uses a polyene as the TM. It has conducted preclinical studies to evaluate the tolerability, toxicity and pharmacokinetic profile of C001 in mice and guinea pigs. Cloudbreak development candidates have demonstrated preclinical proof-of-principle efficacy and safety in preclinical studies.
